Epistaxis Catheter - Choanal Balloon Catheter, Latex, sterile

For the control of severe nose bleeding (epistaxis)

Choanal Ballonkatheter

Properties

  • Simple insertion through the nostril with a stylet using local anaesthesia on a conscious patient (local anaesthetic not always necessary)
  • Distinctly less painful than a Bellocq nasal pack
  • Mucosa-sparing procedure, no trauma to nasal columella and nasal septum
  • Smooth surface reduces bacterial growth in the epipharynx and reliably closes it off from the main nasal cavity
  • Smooth retention threads in the pharynx
  • Reduced irritation of the mucosa of the epipharynx
  • Elastic fixation of the inflated choanal balloon with a conventional anterior nasal pack and a high degree of elasticity of the latex material ensure optimum positioning
  • The anterior nasal pack is largely prevented from receding by the elasticity of the shaft
  • The effect can be improved by simply reinflating the choanal balloon
  • Simple, patient-friendly removal of the nasal pack
  • 1 piece / box, sterile

Antra® - Maxillary Sinus Anatomic Support Balloon Catheter, Silicone, sterile

Antra is a tetrahedral balloon made from medical grade silicone with a Dacron® reinforced, white marked, non-elastic support surface for the orbital floor.
This support surface remains largely flat when inflated and forms the ideal buttress for the fractured orbital floor in the maxillary sinus.

Applications

  • Support for fractured and repositioned maxillary sinus walls, particularly the orbital floor
  • Tamponade of the operative cavity for hemostasis and improved re-epithelialization of exposed bone in Denkers maxillary sinus procedure and tumor surgery in the main nasal cavity

Features and Benefits

  • Reinforced supporting surface for the orbital floor
  • Medical grade silicone with maximum tissue tolerance - therefore no microbic contamination and faster re-epithelialization
  • Optimal positioning
  • X-ray contrast (filled with a saline-Conray mixture 1:1)

Ethmo® - Anatomical Ethmoid Cavity Tampon, Silicone, sterile

The anatomical balloon has a straight, Dacron® reinforced, non-elastic supporting surface for the rhino base. On account of its special design it can
be used individually as a tampon in surgery of flat cranial cavities.

Applications:

Ethmoid surgery
  • Arrest of hemorrhaging
  • Support of re-epithelialization of the bone surface
Frontal sinus surgery
  • Arrest of hemorrhaging
  • Improved opening of the infundibulum
  • Support of the anterior wall after osteoplastic surgery
Traumatology and tumor surgery of the cranial base
  • Long-term tampon and space retainer
  • Support of the reconstructed rhinological base
  • Dural fixation

Epistaxis Balloon Catheter, Silicone, sterile

Properties

  • Double-balloon catheter with two independently inflatable balloons
  • The smaller balloon (10 cc) serves for stopping the bleeding in the nasopharynx
  • The larger balloon (30 cc) stops bleeding within the main nasal cavity
  • Integral airway allows post-op nasal breathing
  • Slightly curved shape and flattened tip for easier insertion
  • Single, sterile packaging
