SPIGGLE & THEIS Medizintechnik GmbH adquiere Pfau Medizinische Instrumente GmbH 

Overath, 28 de agosto de 2025 – SPIGGLE & THEIS Medizintechnik GmbH abre un nuevo capítulo en su historia corporativa: el 28 de agosto de 2025, la empresa adquirió el 100 % de las participaciones de Pfau Medizinische Instrumente GmbH, uno de los fabricantes más antiguos de instrumentos quirúrgicos de ORL, con 175 años de historia.

Con esta adquisición estratégica, SPIGGLE & THEIS continúa su estrategia de crecimiento y refuerza su posición como proveedor integral en el ámbito de los instrumentos quirúrgicos de ORL. Pfau, una empresa tradicional con raíces en la Charité de Berlín, es sinónimo de precisión, calidad y una amplia experiencia, valores que encajan perfectamente con el ADN de SPIGGLE & THEIS.

Thyssen’sche Handelsgesellschaft acquires majority stake in SPIGGLE & THEIS Medizintechnik

Thyssen’sche Handelsgesellschaft mbH (THG), a renowned German Family Office located in Mülheim an der Ruhr, is acquiring a majority stake in SPIGGLE & THEIS Medizintechnik GmbH (“SPIGGLE & THEIS“) with immediate effect. SPIGGLE & THEIS was founded by David Spiggle and Detlef Theis in 1994 in Dieburg. In 2003 the company moved to Overath where it is still located today. The business of SPIGGLE & THEIS is related to the development, production and distribution of medical products for the ENT segment. SPIGGLE & THEIS has an unmatched portfolio almost entirely dedicated to ENT with a specific focus on the surgical segment. With more than 3.500 products shipped to over 75 countries worldwide, SPIGGLE & THEIS has a strong international footprint and has developed into a major player in global ENT over the past years.

The product portfolio comprises a wide range of instruments and consumables dedicated to ENT surgery. Furthermore, SPIGGLE & THEIS provides specific surgical equipment dedicated to the treatment of the Eustachian Tube as well as a broad range of implants, sterile covers and other products. In 2020 SPIGGLE & THEIS has launched a variety of new products including VoiceInject®, a minimally invasive procedure to use autologous fat as a filler for glottal insufficiency.

THG is a long-term investor with participations in Germany and abroad. While THG will provide various support and strategic advice, the operating business will continue to be executed and directed from the local management of SPIGGLE & THEIS.

With the completion of the transaction and in accordance with his retirement age, Detlef Theis has stepped down as Managing Director of SPIGGLE & THEIS. THG and SPIGGLE & THEIS very much welcome the offer of Mr. Theis to support a smooth transition and the further development of SPIGGLE & THEIS in a consulting role.
