Endoscopic Ear Surgery according to Prof. Panetti

For decades, the limiting factor of Endoscopic Ear Surgery was one-handed work. The constant change between dissector, suction and forceps made this surgery slow and uncomfortable. Together with Professor Giuseppe Panetti, SPIGGLE & THEIS developed a special product series that combines suction and dissection in one instrument. Thereby, new standards could be set in Endoscopic Ear Surgery.

"Each instrument has a suction duct with suction control on the hand piece. Despite being newly developed the tips of the instruments are the tried and tested forms classically used in middle ear dissection. The suction function enables simultaneous suction and dissection. Dissection is more effective when supported by the suction facility. Any otoendoscopic fogging or blood stains around the tip of the endoscope can be easily removed by rinsing with a hydro-saline solution. This presents a clear operating field, without interrupting the surgical procedure."

Preyer retractor

Slim blade, gold plated grip, studded on both sides, 11 cm, detachable

"Endoscopic ear surgery has many advantages, but there are some steps in the procedure, where the change from endoscope to microscope  still makes sense, e.g. in cholesteatoma surgery. This atraumatic retractor allows changing back and forth from endoscope to microscope without causing bleeding in the ear canal. Thanks to the studs on both blades, the retractor can be positioned stably in the outer ear canal, without damaging the delicate ear canal skin."
